🙏 God prepared a banquet. Heaven was ready. The invitation was given.
In the Gospel of the Second Sunday after Pentecost, Our Lord teaches the Parable of the Great Supper. Many were invited, yet many refused to come. Their excuse was not hatred of God, but attachment to earthly things.
This Gospel is not only about people in the past. It is about every soul today. Through prayer, conscience, suffering, the sacraments, and His Church, God continually calls us to Himself.
The danger is not always open rebellion. Often it is delay. We tell ourselves there will be more time tomorrow. Yet tomorrow is promised to no one.
Heaven remains open. Grace is still offered. The invitation still stands.
The question is not whether God calls.
The question is whether we will answer.
