James 2:24 — the only verse in all of Scripture containing the phrase “faith alone” — directly contradicts the foundational dogma of Protestantism. And Romans 3:28, the verse Luther used to build sola fide, had the word “alone” added to it by Luther himself. The Bible didn’t lead Doug out of Catholicism. It led him in.
