In this video, we examine the historical and manuscript evidence behind several of his claims. We look at whether the Jewish canon was truly settled and unanimous, whether Tobit and First Maccabees existed only in Greek, what the Dead Sea Scrolls reveal, and whether Hebrew-speaking Christians rejected the wider canon.
The evidence includes Hebrew and Aramaic fragments of Tobit, strong scholarly support for a Hebrew original of First Maccabees, the testimony of Origen, Jerome, Rufinus, Josephus, and the witness of the early Church.

If the canon is the foundation of sola Scriptura, then Christians must know where the canon came from and whether the historical claims used to defend the Protestant Bible are actually true.
