Sam Shamoun responds with compassion and opens the Scriptures to explain why Christians do not grieve as those without hope. He shows that those who die in Jesus Christ remain alive, that heaven is the city of the living God, and that death cannot separate believers from Christ or from the communion of saints.
Sam also explains why he believes Mary’s appearance carried a message for the grieving son: “If Jesus is your brother, Mary is your mother.” He reminds the caller that he has not been left an orphan and that, through Christ, he will see his mother again.
