Sam Shamoun explains that Jesus Christ is the one mediator between God and humanity, but Christ’s unique mediatorship does not exclude believers from praying for one another. Instead, our union with the Lord Jesus Christ makes Christian intercession effective and acceptable to God. Because Jesus Christ gave Himself as a ransom for all, the Church is encouraged to pray and intercede for the salvation of all people.
The teaching also explores Ephesians 6 and James 5, where the Apostle Paul asks Christians to pray for him and believers are commanded to make supplication for all the saints.
