The gospel reading emphasizes that where Jesus is, his servant will also be. To be with Jesus, we must be willing to do the “little things” and die to ourselves, putting Jesus’ needs before our own. This means embracing the cross and suffering in this world, as Jesus did, to attain eternal life and glory with him in heaven.
