Sam Shamoun carefully follows Isaiah’s words and pronouns to reveal two distinct references: the individual servant called Israel and the nation he is sent to restore. The identity of this servant leads directly to Jesus Christ—the faithful Israelite, the light of the nations, the covenant of the people and the divine speaker whose voice appears in Isaiah centuries before Bethlehem.
Isaiah also announces that the nations will receive the servant’s Torah and that God’s salvation will reach the ends of the earth. The inclusion of the Gentiles was never a backup plan after Israel’s rejection. It was part of God’s messianic purpose from the beginning.
