I Warned Canada This Would Happen – Brian Holdsworth

“Christian civilization has had that rare gift of holding together two difficult truths – that suffering can be both undesirable and redemptive. But a culture that loses that moral framework is increasingly tempted to eliminate the sufferer instead of the suffering.”

Canada introduced Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) as a compassionate option for people facing unbearable suffering at the end of life. Years later, the program has expanded—and disturbing stories are raising serious questions about what happens when a society begins treating death as a solution to suffering.

In this video, I look at several Canadian MAID cases, the historical connection between euthanasia and eugenic thinking, and a deeper problem: whether a post-Christian culture still possesses the moral framework necessary to understand suffering, courage, dignity, and death.
