Why Are Seashells on Mount Everest? | Hugh Owen – The Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation

Evidence for a Global Flood and Its Importance for Our Times | Kolbe Center Seminar, Dallas, September 2026

Marine fossils lie on top of the world’s highest mountains. Hugh Owen sets out the evidence that Noah’s Flood covered the whole earth, and why it matters for our times.

Starting from St. Peter’s warning against the scoffers who would deny the Creation and the Flood, Hugh Owen makes the theological case for a global Flood, then turns to the physical evidence: marine fossils on the highest mountains, what it takes to make a fossil, dinosaur graveyards, carbon-14 in dinosaur bones, rock layers that cross continents, the lessons of Mount St. Helens, oversized valleys, water gaps and planation surfaces, Noah’s Ark and the Ice Age. He closes with what the Flood teaches our generation, and with Our Lady of Good Help and the Peshtigo fire.
