✝️ Rome tried to silence them. Instead, their witness helped transform the world.
Saint Peter was a fisherman called by Christ to become the Rock upon which He established His Church. Saint Paul was once a persecutor of Christians, but divine grace transformed him into the great Apostle of the Gentiles.
Different in temperament and mission, they were united in one Faith, one Gospel, and one final witness. Both sealed their preaching with their blood in Rome: Peter by crucifixion and Paul by the sword.
Their martyrdom was not defeat. The empire that condemned them eventually heard the Gospel they proclaimed. Their teaching still resounds throughout the Church, calling every generation to fidelity, courage, conversion, and love for Christ.
