Most Catholics Don’t Know This Can Be a Mortal Sin – Excerpta Catechismi

⚠️ Most Catholics have never been taught this.

Traditional Catholic doctrine distinguishes between being hurt and deliberately refusing to forgive. A wound is not a sin. Pain is not a sin. But when a person knowingly refuses forgiveness and clings to hatred, the soul can enter dangerous territory.

In the Our Father, Our Lord teaches us to pray:

“Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us.”

Every time we pray these words, we ask God to measure His mercy toward us by the mercy we show to others.

What do the Baltimore Catechism, Roman Catechism, and traditional Catholic teaching say about unforgiveness? Why can a stubborn refusal to forgive become grave matter?

This forgotten Catholic truth deserves to be heard again.

🙏 Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
