📖 Why did God become man?
✝️ St. Anselm of Canterbury, Doctor of the Church, devoted an entire work to answering this question: Cur Deus Homo, “Why God Became Man.”
📜 According to St. Anselm, sin created a debt that fallen humanity could not repay. Man owed the debt, yet man could not satisfy it. Only God could offer a satisfaction worthy of God’s infinite majesty.
👑 Therefore the Redeemer had to be both God and man.
