Santa Muerte, or “Saint Death,” is a demonic skeletal figure in a blue robe with a scythe. Promising a “Holy Death,” the figure is venerated by Mexican Cartels as a pseudo-saint. The temple is intended to hold “Masses” and rosary services dedicated to honoring Santa Muerte.
Mother is appalled by this email and recommends that the bishop in Arizona should openly condemn this temple. She re-states that the Catholic Church has disavowed Santa Muerte and that those who venerate this figure are toying with the demonic.
