A guide to making your friends look at you with concern
Dragons. I know… You’re already rolling your eyes. I was in the same boat. Notice I said, “was”. If you ask me now if I believe dragons were running around causing problems, I wouldn’t even hesitate. I’d say, “absolutely.”
It sounds ridiculous. It’s on the same level as believing Santa Claus is sneaking through your chimney, and the Easter Bunny is hiding eggs (I believe this is by design).
Stay with me. You might change your mind. If I can convince my wife, I can convince anyone.
Dragons
Every ancient civilization on the face of the Earth all independently describe this animal in detail. Every one of these civilizations hunted them, and every one of them had a name for them. We have somehow turned these stories, drawings, paintings, carvings and writings into complete exaggeration and imagination.
To be fair, most of the medieval European and ancient Chinese images we see are quite exaggerated (which people tend to do), but does that mean we need to completely throw dragons in the category of “make-believe?” Making cartoon-like images out of a once terrible reptilian beast does not officially kill the beast. I will leave it to you to decide if these creatures were imaginary, or an actual problem that needed intervention.
