Mother receives some criticism from a listener who wishes she would stop dividing people based on their religion. They believe that as long as these people believe in a God and that they are good enough people, God will let them enter heaven. It doesn’t matter if they are Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, or Muslim.
Mother corrects the listener by explaining that simply believing in a God and being a “good person” is not enough. They must become Catholic and have a proper relationship with God. Perfect unity with God relies on a perfect understanding of God. Not correcting those with false beliefs is more damaging, as they may be damned after death. Mother once again concludes that unity should not come at the cost of truth.
