The gospel reading emphasizes the importance of being spiritually prepared for the Lord’s arrival, likening it to the readiness of the Jews during Passover. Just as they were prepared to leave at any moment, we should keep our souls ready and free from spiritual clutter, always prepared to welcome the Lord. This readiness is not for the Lord’s sake, but for our own, as it allows us to receive Him fully and experience His blessings.
