The Sacred Heart of Jesus represents both literal and figurative aspects of love and suffering. Through Jesus’ suffering and death on the cross, the Church was born, and we gain access to the Father through His open heart. True love for Jesus is demonstrated through sharing in His suffering and remaining faithful to Him and His Church, even in times of hardship.
