Mother Miriam receives an email from a listener asking how they should approach evangelizing their fallen-away Catholic family. The listener is afraid that they will approach the subject incorrectly and that it will draw them away from the Catholic faith.
Mother responds by explaining that they shouldn’t be afraid if they are approaching for the right reason. She calls back to the metaphor of a beggar asking another beggar for bread. There should be no hostility involved on the part of either side.
Mother also recommends not sheltering these individuals from the truth. If they are living not according to the Catholic faith, then they must lovingly be told the truth.
