Sam Shamoun explains why the number 144,000 may be symbolic of completeness: twelve tribes multiplied by twelve thousand. Because Revelation frequently uses symbolic numbers and images—such as the Lamb having seven horns and seven eyes—Christians must interpret the Book of Revelation carefully, reverently, and contextually rather than forcing a dogmatic interpretation where Scripture does not provide one.
The teaching explores the unusual list of Israel’s twelve tribes in Revelation 7. The tribe of Dan is omitted, Levi is included, Ephraim is replaced by Joseph, and Manasseh is listed even though he is Joseph’s son. Sam Shamoun compares this list with the Old Testament division of the Promised Land and explains why Levi, Ephraim, Manasseh, and Joseph present an important interpretive challenge.

Finally, Sam Shamoun connects Revelation 7 with Revelation 14, where the 144,000 stand with the Lamb on Mount Zion, bear the names of the Father and the Lamb, sing a new song before God’s throne, and follow the Lamb wherever He goes. Their virginity represents spiritual purity from the woman, the Whore of Babylon, the beastly system, and the nations aligned with her. As firstfruits offered to both God and the Lamb, they also testify to the divine equality of the Father and Jesus Christ.
