Jesus Christ is alive, Jesus Christ has conquered death, and Jesus Christ will ultimately destroy all wickedness.
Drawing from John 14:27, John 16:33, and Philippians 4:4–13, Sam Shamoun shows how Christians can receive the peace of God in the middle of tribulation. Believers must remain in union with Christ through prayer, Scripture, worship, church, the Eucharist, liturgy, and fellowship. Instead of dwelling on frightening and immoral things, Christians must think about what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, gracious, excellent, and worthy of praise.
Finally, Sam Shamoun explains the true context of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The passage is not a promise of worldly success, but a testimony that Jesus Christ gives believers strength to remain faithful, content, steadfast, and unshakable in both abundance and need. No matter how dark the world becomes, Christians have a living hope because Jesus Christ has conquered the world.
